Enterprise
Grant
This is a discretionary grant for SMEs investing in
projects that fit the following criteria :
-
organisation
must be an SME
-
undertaken
within the Enterprise Grant Areas of the English regions e.g.
Sheffield
-
expenditure
is on fixed assets such as equipment, plant and machinery, and/
or associated land, site preparation and buildings (up to £500,000
investment)
-
are
high-quality
-
demonstrates
a need
-
viable
and have good prospects of becoming self-sustaining
The
level of grant depends upon the needs, quality and location of the
project but up to 15 per cent gross of capital costs may be supported.
Eligible businesses are those that qualify for state aid it does
not include steel production, retail, local services, mining and
ship building.
South
Yorkshire Investment Fund (SYIF)
This fund is targeted at existing businesses or those looking
to locate in South Yorkshire, that are viable, privately owned and
whose funding cannot be met fully from traditional sources.
SYIF provides loan and equity finance, practical advice and support
(Money with Management) and access to the Business Angels finance
network.
The fund will supplement the organisation's own finances by offering
:
- Small
Business Fund - loans from £15,000 to £100,000 - for the first
stages of business success
- The
Development Fund - loans packages from £100,000 to £250,000 -
aimed at ensuring continual growth
- The
Capital Fund - providing share capital from £100,000 to £1,000,000
for businesses with potential for rapid expansion
